In the world of construction, there is always the desire to save time, reduce costs and optimise resources. For Andrejs Babrans, Owner of SIA Dakstina Jumti, Posi-Joist helps him achieve just that for his customers.
SIA Dakstina Jumti was founded in 2009, and initially sold roofing and roofing accessories, before expanding into roof installations, commercial roofing production and, ultimately, the production of full-cycle house construction. Three years ago, the decision was made to switch to manufacturing, specifically roof truss production.
Andrejs says: “In our 15 years, we have not been sitting still, we have been constantly evolving. We realised we had to take the step to add production to our processes. We produce raw materials for our own sites, which means we are competitive.
“I have been wanting to make use of connector technology and purposefully adapted our warehouse so that we could produce trusses. It was then we started to look into what kind of equipment we were going to put in it, so we contacted MiTek.”
Andrejs and his team have not only taken advantage of MiTek’s Posi-Joist system, which combines the strength of timber with the versatility of a steel web, but the suite of the planning and modelling software packages provided by MiTek.
Since partnering with MiTek, SIA Dakstina Jumti has seen further growth, developing into bigger client projects. Thanks to its flexibility for design projects and quick and easy installation, Posi-Joist opened the door to more projects and possibilities for the roofing business.
With his customers in mind and an eye on meeting evolving Latvian building regulations, Andrejs can realise construction projects quickly with Posi-Joist.
“Going forward, every process will be scrutinised – production, delivery, assembly – every area will need to be optimised,” says Andrejs. “I really would appeal to my industry colleagues to integrate Posi-Joist into their projects. It is the future of construction. The result will see a saving in time, human resources and cost.”
