We’ve seen a great first half of the year here in the Baltics, and we’ve been watching with interest how the market for our Posi-Joist products is growing in Sweden.

From Sea Club holiday homes on the island of Sandhamn and a luxury property being built just outside Stockholm, to a six-storey wooden frame apartment block in Torsby, our MiTek colleagues have been kept very busy.

It’s exciting to see our Posi-Joists coming into their own on these projects.

At the same time, our Sweden team has been exploring the capabilities of Posi-Joist in a test environment. They’ve been working with the Linnaeus University Testing Lab to put a new Hybrid Posi-Joist through its paces and initial feedback has been very promising, demonstrating the potential for innovation and improvement when combining wood, steel, and concrete.

In the two years since Posi-Joists were introduced to the Swedish market, product sales have seen strong growth, which we’re beginning to see replicated in our own Baltic region. Last year alone, MiTek delivered more than 90 tonnes of metal web joists to a range of construction projects across Sweden, Denmark, and the Baltics. This bodes well for the future!

The market in Sweden is growing and shows what can be possible –  it’s exciting to see the prospects for Posi-Joist projects across the Baltic region, with clients increasingly investing in new machinery, which is helping to showcase the potential for growth in the housebuilding sector.

All in all, we think 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for MiTek Baltics and we’re looking forward to contributing to sustainable building solutions for customers.
