Here at MiTek Baltics we have been building on our long-term relationship with the Latvian University of Life Science and Technologies by working to support their timber engineering training courses.
We’ve been working closely with the Dean of the University to help advise them as a technology provider and provide their students with the right learning tools in the form of licences for PAMIR; MiTek’s industry leading Roof Truss and Posi-Joist design software.
Investing in the future of timber design
We have provided the Latvian University of Life Science and Technologies 10 licences to help the students to learn how to use design software and train them in timber construction and truss designs.
Alongside the licenses themselves, we have also been helping to train and support the course lecturer on the industry leading software.
Industry leading software
Developed by our European software development team, PAMIR is a fully integrated CAD, layout, and engineering package. The software is also specifically written for Euro Code 5 (EC5) which is the code that all new truss and metal web floor designs should be designed to.
PAMIR is normally only used by licensed MiTek Roof Truss and Posi-Joist manufacturers however the University has been granted special licences for learning. In a similar approach PAMIR software has also been used at Technologies Siauliai Lithuanian College since 2020.
Rolling out the program
MiTek are also building a relationship with Liepaja College and plan to assist them with PAMIR software in their new programme that specialises in timber design.
